Community Service

Anniston Water Works serves the community with more than water and sewer!

The Board and employees of Anniston Water Works have a long history of service to the community.  That service is anchored by membership in local civic and professional organizations like Civitan, Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary and the Associated General Contractors.  In addition, AWWSB employees serve as volunteers on a variety of local Boards including United Way, Spirit of Anniston, Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Calhoun County, Calhoun County Achievement Foundation and the Choccolocco Creek Watershed Alliance.

Each year, AWWSB and its employees participate as volunteers or sponsors in a wide range of community events and projects like the United Way Day of Action, Noble Street Festival, Cheaha Challenge, Earth Day, Veterans Day Parade, Habitat for Humanity, Renew Our Rivers and Christmas Angels.

Since 1996, Anniston Water Works has been the proud adopter of two elementary schools, Cobb Elementary and Wellborn Elementary, through the Chamber of Commerce Adopt-a-School program and also participated in the chamber’s Class Act Program at Anniston Middle School.

So, as you can see, AWWSB is proud to serve our community not only as water and wastewater providers, but also as a fellow citizen investing in the improvement of our community!
