Underground Line Locations

A program as established by Alabama State Legislation Act #94-487 is in place to help prevent damage to underground utilities, injury, or even death. Call before you dig to have electric, gas and water utilities located. We ask all excavators to give at least 48 hours prior notification of their intent to excavate any area where underground utilities might exist. If they exist, the location of the underground facilities in that area will be marked. Electric will be painted red, Water will be painted blue, Sanitary Sewer will be painted green and Gas will be painted yellow. Damage to underground utilities by excavators without prior notice of intent to excavate will result in payment by the excavator for cost to correct and/or replace damaged facilities.

The Anniston Water Works is a member of the One Call locating system. To request a water or sanitary sewer line locate please phone Alabama One Call at "811" and provide an address for the location.
